Dvořák's String Serenade is a sunny and carefree work, just right to begin a Sunday morning. By contrast, Respighi depicted the sunset in Il Tramonto for string orchestra and mezzo-soprano. This piece sounds like it was written for the warm, intense voice of Christianne Stotijn.
