About the concert
Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla conducts two works from Russia packed with folk tunes. Weinberg’s Third Symphony is preceded by Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto with Gabriela Montero as soloist.

While the exceptional acoustics of The Concertgebouw also play an important role in this respect, no other orchestra sounds like the Concertgebouworkest in the Main Hall. The influence exerted on the orchestra by its chief conductors - of which there have been only six since 1888 - and of the musicians themselves is also important.
