On Christmas Eve, there's a Christmas Eve Service in the Main Hall of The Concertgebouw.
A special Christmas concert for all ages
The atmospheric Christmas Eve service, which has been organized in The Concertgebouw for more than 50 years, takes those present into the Christmas story. Under the baton of Benjamin Bakker and with the cooperation of a wide range of musicians, beautiful Christmas carols are heard, from familiar to surprising, from classic to new. “Music brings you to the heart of the Christmas story, calming and jubilant.”
The beautiful Christmas carols, the hopeful Bible story and the inspiring words make this Christmas Eve service in The Concertgebouw a special concert for all ages. Christmas is also a time of reflection. Pop-up pastor Taco Koster of "Diensten met Belangstellenden" (also known as the Sunday evening church in Amsterdam) will explain the relevance of Christmas based on the theme: 'Close'.
