About the concert
Chief conductor Lorenzo Viotti conducts Sibelius's beloved First Symphony. Violinist Augustin Hadelich, previously an artist in residence with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, returns with Bartók's powerful Second Violin Concerto.

Marc Albrecht was the chief conductor of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra|Netherlands Chamber Orchestra between 2011 and 2020; Lorenzo Viotti will succeed him in that position from season 2020/2021 and onwards.

The opening programme starts at 1:40 pm and consists of an introduction to the works, or an interview with the conductor or soloist, or an intimate concert by the musicians from the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra|Netherlands Chamber Orchestra.
