French pianist and jazzman Dorian Dumont, based in Brussels - key member of the electro jazz band ECHT! - confronts himself with the challenging exercise of solo piano in a project focused entirely around the artist Aphex Twin. After a first album APHEXionS, he will release a new one on February 23, 2024, still reinventing pieces from the electronic music prodigy. Aphex Twin's music serves as a starting point for Dumont's musical developments which are sometimes composed and often improvised, letting him find his own playing field around the concepts and the poetics of the genius of electro music.

Born in Montpellier (France) where he studied classical piano at the Conservatory, obtaining in 2005 the Gold Medals in piano and chamber music with the highest distinctions, Dorian Dumont started to take an interest in Jazz and improvised music shortly after, leaving in 2008 to study in Brussels, which he has not left since. After having studied successively in the Jazz sections at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels then at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel, he obtained his master's degree in 2013.
Always curious about new sounds and cultivating eclecticism, he refuses to fix on one genre in order to be able to exploit several facets of his playing and thus express himself in several fields of musical exploration. In recent years, he has been particularly involved in the band "ECHT!" which precisely breaks the boundaries between jazz, electronic music and hip-hop.
He has just come face to face with the exercise of the solo piano with a 1st album APHEXionS (2021) centered
around the artist APHEX TWIN whose music serves as a starting point for developments that are sometimes
composed, often improvised, around the principles game of electro genius.
