Hear Beethoven’s mysterious ‘ghost trio’ as well as Ravel’s spectacular Piano Trio. Ravel composed the work in a very short time, as the First World War was breaking out. He incorporated Basque music, Malay poetry and sounds from far-off lands into a virtuoso and vivid trio. France’s Trio Karénine is the perfect ensemble to take their compatriot’s music to great heights.
