The New York Times has ranked Cécile McLorin Salvant alongside vocalists like Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. In other words, Cécile McLorin Salvant is one of today’s best jazz singers. She gives contemporary meanings to jazz, soul and blues songs, singing in both English and French. Tonight she’s with the justly famed Metropole Orkest, conducted by Darcy James Argue.
