Artist and musician Thijs Lodewijk/LudoWic will revive a unique and forgotten instrument during ADE in the Recital Hall. The Trautonium was one of the first synthesizers, invented in 1929. LudoWic is the proud owner of a Trautonium and one of the few people who play the instrument. Listening to the Trautonium, you hear both the past and the future. Nostalgia walks hand in hand with innovation during this unique ADE concert.
Due to succesfull ticket sales, LudoWic's two concerts in the Choir Hall have been merged and moved to the Recital Hall. The starting time has changed as a result: the concert will begin at 8:30 pm. Tickets already purchased for the Choir Hall remain valid.
This seated concert is free to attend for ADE Pro Pass holders: a limited number of tickets is available. The venue reserves the tickets up to 15 minutes before the start of the concert (after that, the tickets will be released to other visitors). Make sure you claim your ticket on time, showing your ADE wristband at the counter in the Concertgebouwplein entrance (not at the box office). Address: Concertgebouwplein 10.
Het Concertgebouw Eigen Programmering
Pop, Neoclassical
It goes without saying that The Concertgebouw and jazz & pop music make a perfect combination. The stages of both the Main Hall and the Recital Hall have borne witness to nearly the whole of jazz history. Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald have both performed here, as have Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong. Famous pop stars and bands that have graced the stage of the Main Hall include Frank Zappa, the Doors and the Eagles, to name but a few. Legendary concerts, in the present as well as the past.
