In May 2025, for the third time in it's history, The Concertgebouw will host a grand Mahler Festival. After the Mahler Festival in 1920, in honour of Willem Mengelberg's twenty-fifth anniversary as chief conductor of the Concertgebouworkest, and the Mahler Festival in 1995, all symphonies will once again be performed in the Main Hall. In the Recital Hall, you will hear Mahler's complete song oeuvre.
The passe-partout for the Recital Hall comprises seven morning and afternoon concerts, focusing on Mahler's works for small ensemble. During the five afternoon concerts, you will hear pianist Julius Drake, perhaps today's most renowned song accompanist, along with young vocalists he admires. There are also two concerts on Sunday morning: the Chianti Ensemble performs Mahler's Piano Quartet in a and Thomas Beijer arranged a movement from the Fourth Symphony for his instrument: the piano.
The passe-partout for the Recital Hall is sold out.
